Lisa, a member of BLACKPINK from Northern Thailand, is currently in a relationship with the heir of a conglomerate.

Lisa is one of the members of BLACKPINK, a girl group leading the K-pop scene. She is the only non-Korean member, hailing from Thailand. From a young age, Lisa demonstrated talent in singing and dancing, and through relentless effort, she achieved her dream of becoming a K-pop star. Now, as one of the most popular members, she is drawing media attention for another reason—her rumored boyfriend, Frédéric Arnault. Frédéric Arnault is the fourth son of Bernard Arnault, the chairman of LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), and he is currently the CEO of TAG Heuer and a director at LVMH. Lisa, who was born into a humble family in Northern Thailand, might become the daughter-in-law of one of the world's wealthiest families. Let's look into historical figures who rose from humble beginnings to become influential figures.

Queen Min, who became the wife of King Gojong

Queen Min, later known as Empress Myeongseong, became the wife of King Gojong and eventually wielded significant political power. She is also remembered as the last tragic empress of the Joseon Dynasty. From a young age, she studied under her father and enjoyed reading texts such as "Xiaoxue" (小學) and "Classic of Filial Piety" (孝經), with a particular interest in history. After losing her father early in life, Queen Min had the opportunity to be selected as the wife of King Gojong. At the time, the Joseon Dynasty was suffering from intense political turmoil due to the dominance of certain clans through a political system known as "Sedojungchi" (勢道政治). After King Gojong's father, Heungseon Daewongun, abolished this system, he chose Queen Min, who had no powerful relatives, as his daughter-in-law to ensure that external clans could not dominate the court. Despite her humble background, Queen Min gained power and influence through her marriage.

Empress Gi, who became the empress of the Mongol Empire

Empress Gi was originally a tribute woman from Goryeo, who rose to become an empress in the Yuan Dynasty, established by the Mongols, and exerted significant influence on the empire. Tribute women were sent from weaker states to stronger ones as part of diplomatic offerings. Most women taken as tribute led miserable lives as concubines or playthings. Empress Gi, however, used her political acumen to become a favored consort of Emperor Toghon Temür. She later gave birth to Ayushiridara, who would become the second emperor of Northern Yuan, and was elevated to the position of second empress. From the daughter of a provincial official in Goryeo, she rose to become one of the most powerful women in the Mongol Empire, wielding considerable influence.
