Bravery Alone is Not Enough for Academic Growth
Courageous and fierce individuals tend to be reckless. While they may be able to overcome difficulties, they often struggle to coexist with others. Children who are brave and willing to take on any challenge often fail to evaluate their abilities accurately, resulting in reckless behavior. Typically, such children confidently respond in class, eager to showcase their abilities to their parents. However, when the academic challenge increases, these children, who begin with an attitude of "I can do it," tend to overestimate their abilities and struggle to keep up with the lesson's pace. Moreover, they often fail to acknowledge their limitations and continue to push forward, even when they make little progress. Brave but self-centered children who do not recognize their problems need special guidance.
Do Not Fuel Competitive Spirit to Avoid Recklessness
Brave children often seek to appear heroic and superior to their peers. Since they have a strong desire for recognition and self-satisfaction, it is crucial to avoid making comparisons when teaching them. Instead, they should be guided to focus on becoming a better version of themselves compared to yesterday. Daily achievements should be emphasized, with personal tutoring rather than sending them to cram schools to address their weaknesses. If handled poorly, they may develop a competitive streak, working hard to catch up with their friends. However, this may lead them to believe they can always overcome challenges, preventing them from objectively assessing their abilities, which can ultimately result in academic failure.
Teach Them to Understand Their Own Goals
Brave children need regular reminders to stay focused on their academic goals. It is essential to set a manageable workload for them each day and help them understand the priorities of their tasks. If their temperament leads to struggles in learning, they may become overly focused on a single task, which can derail their entire study plan. Additionally, having them meditate every morning can help reinforce their academic goals. Meditation is an excellent tool for brain training and helps with visualization exercises to improve focus. Because brave children often get absorbed in their interests and lose awareness of their surroundings, meditation can be a very effective way to address this.
